NOTIFICATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION AND APPEAL PROCEDURE: FUEL SERVICE STATION, KENTON-ON-SEA
Please be informed that, in terms of Section 24 of the National Environmental Management Act (Act no 107 of 1998) (NEMA), the Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs & Tourism (DEDEAT) has issued an Environmental Authorisation (EC05/C/LN1/M/08-2015) for the establishment of a fuel service station and associated infrastructure on Erf 3139, Kariega Heights in Kenton-on-Sea, Eastern Cape Province, subject to the conditions set out in the Environmental Authorisation (EA), issued on 9 December 2015. A copy of the EA is attached for your perusal.
Parties wishing to formally appeal this authorisation are requested to forward the appeal in writing to the MEC for DEDEAT within 20 (twenty) days of this notification. Please note that, in terms of the EIA Regulations, the period of 15 December to 5 January is not included in the calculation of the 20 day period.
