It’s only R150!

by | Jan 27, 2020 | Blog, Security

We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the few businesses in Kenton who contribute to the Security Fund and a BIG THANK YOU to those individuals who make their regular donations. The Block Watch Team (made up of volunteer residents) and the Dusk to Dawn Patrol (professional security guards paid for by the Security Fund) have made a tremendous difference in keeping Kenton and surrounds a safe place during the last festive season. The recent crime stats are proof of that! (Click here to see them).

It’s only R150 a month to keep Kenton secure during the Christmas and Easter holidays. Those are the two periods of the year when Kenton is inundated with welcome visitors, walking on our beautiful beaches, staying in our Guest Houses and Airbnb’s, eating in our restaurants and shopping in our shops. It’s the time when many local businesses, both big and small, make enough money to sustain them for the quieter periods.

Our Security Fund currently has a shortfall of R200 000 and this is an urgent appeal to all businesses (and those residents who are able) to please support the funding of the Dusk to Dawn Patrol during the holiday seasons.

While you’re asleep they’re keeping our village safe. Let’s be safe, not sorry!
