Road maintenance planning

by | Mar 9, 2024 | Blog, Water, Infrastructure and Maintenance

At the recent KOSRA AGM there was general agreement that ratepayers should become involved in funding and carrying out road maintenance in Kenton-on-Sea. KOSRA have collected a substantial amount of data on the roads in the town as well as their condition and are well-placed to develop and execute a road maintenance plan. In addition, the Ndlambe municipality has initiated a maintenance project to improve three of the major intersections in the town. This document sets out the KOSRA approach to road maintenance which will build on the learnings of the Ndlambe maintenance project and extend the Works using R300 000 of existing funds to develop a “proof of concept” of a low-cost maintenance approach that attempts to maximise the cost-effectiveness of the Works and arrest deterioration and extend the lives of the roads in Kenton.
