Water, Infrastructure and Maintenance
Repairs to streetlights in and around Kenton should commence on 27 May 2021.
KOSRA is well aware of the on-going and ever-escalating water crisis as a result of Amatola Water being unable to supply water adequately.
Current water levels in the reservoirs are below 20% and there major problems at the RO plants and Diaz boreholes.
We are pleased to report that a meeting was held on 18 February 2021 with senior officials of Ndlambe regarding possible alternative solutions to the Kenton sand dune
Water restrictions from 10am – 2pm and again from 10pm – 4am. Effective immediately.
In preparation for the busy festive season, we encourage all residents and business owners to purchase and install water storage tanks if they haven’t already done so.
Since last year, KOSRA has written several letters to SANRAL (The South African Roads Agency Limited), expressing concern at the dangerous situation and the number of accidents and fatalities on the R72 in the Kenton/Boesmans/Marselle area.
KOSRA wrote to the consulting engineer employed by the Eastern Cape Provincial Roads Department, expressing concern about the bush and grass encroaching on the roadway on the R343 between Kenton and Salem.
It appears that the Ndlambe Municipal Manager has been on annual leave so KOSRA’s letter.
Middle Beach Wall & The Unqualified Contractor… Similar to the Talk of the Town report on the RO plant in Port Alfred – starring the same ‘Julius’?!
Whilst the Buzz Bar, on Middle Beach during the festive season, provided a great view and decent refreshments it left quite a lot to be desired.
You cannot have failed to notice the unsightly broken and tumble-down braais on the approach to Middle Beach.

The first round of clearing alien invaders in the Joan Muirhead Nature Reserve is complete.
Invasive alien plant species are besieging our beautiful nature reserves, green spaces and gardens in and around Kenton.
Apart from the damage that lorries and builders’ trucks do to our roads in Kenton the general state is pretty dire!
You may recall that, in 2014 we launched an application to the High Court in Grahamstown against Ndlambe Municipality.
Down in the bottom of the deep blue sea is exactly where we all might end up if Ndlambe doesn’t see fit to fix middle beach car park very soon.
