A security message from the Kenton Ratepayers Association

by | Dec 10, 2021 | Blog, Security

The holiday season is once again upon us and the very welcome influx of visitors into our villages is gathering momentum. It’s been a tough old year with lockdowns, beach bans, homeschooling and working from home adding to the challenge and the opportunity for all to once again enjoy our beautiful beaches and estuaries, relaxed holiday atmosphere and local Kenton vibe will be welcomed by all.

Unfortunately, our experience shows that criminals also see the holiday season as an opportunity and will once again be out and about and on the lookout for any opportunity to enrich themselves.

The Kenton Ratepayers Association has your safety and well being at heart and will once again be financing the deployment of additional guards at strategic points in and around Kenton over the holiday period. We have also recently rolled out our Community Camera Monitoring Initiative which will see the security cameras in Kenton, Bushmans and the surrounding areas monitored by trained community volunteers to support and complement the monitoring activities already performed by Hi-Tec Security. This is an initiative we are especially proud of, and we believe that this will add an additional layer of security to our existing activities.

The secret to any successful community security initiative, however, is the buy-in and proactive contribution by the community and we appeal to all our residents and visitors to be aware, stay vigilant, keep unattended areas at home locked up securely and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Working together with SAPS, Hi-Tec and our other local security volunteer groups we continue to strive for Zero Incidents.

Help us to help you stay safe over the holiday season.

Kind regards
Your KOSRA Committee
