Proposed garage at the entrance to Kenton

by | Jul 28, 2021 | Blog, Building and Town Planning

Over a period of several years, steps have been taken to rezone the property at the south eastern corner of the entrance to Kenton so as to enable a commercial development to take place on the site.

It appears that in the early years, no community organisation played any role in relation to the proposed development.

The proposal includes the construction of an off ramp to provide access to the site from the westbound side of the R72 plus an entry/exit point onto Kariega Road at Oettle Street.

KOSRA, in 2019, lodged an appeal against the subdivision and consolidation of the site to align entry/exit point with Oettle Street, citing various grounds not confined to the consolidation and subdivision. The appeal document can be accessed with the following link: .

KOSRA’S appeal has been dismissed. No up-to-date report from SANRAL has been seen.
