Two proposed possible commercial and industrial developments

by | Jun 20, 2019 | Blog, Building and Town Planning

Dear Kenton Residents

KOSRA has received, for public comment, documents in support of two proposed possible commercial and industrial developments:

1. Shopping Centre & Filling Station | Kenton Entrance

KOSRA has received a letter from Ndlambe Local Municipality dated 7 June 2019 and a Motivation Report in support of an application for the subdivision of Erf 3139 and its consolidation with the Remainder of Erf 3134. This site is at the entrance to Kenton-on-Sea at the junction of the R72, on the north east corner.

The Motivation Report states that it is intended to establish a shopping centre and filling station on the site.

  • Direct comments to Ndlambe to be submitted by 7 July 2019
  • Comments to KOSRA to be submitted by 27 June (for consolidation with the submission that KOSRA will make)

At this stage KOSRA notes that the Motivation Report is lacking in detail and its brevity makes comment difficult.

2. Commercial & Industrial Development | R72 Alexander Road

On 13 June 2019, KOSRA has received a Draft Basic Assessment Report (“DBAR”) in support of an application for the establishment of an intended commercial and industrial development at the corner of the R72 and Alexander Road. This is commonly referred to as the “pigeon club site”.

The DBAR describes a commercial and industrial development in three proposed phases over 10 years and which includes an intended filling station in the first stage.

Kind Regards
